After graduating college with a business management degree in 1992, I decided to pursue my passion for engineering. I attended NJIT, while working full-time, and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. At the time I worked for a large developer who managed projects across New York, New Jersey, and beyond. As a project engineer and manager at LeFrak Organization I assisted in the development of a 300 acre project situated on the Hudson River across from the World Trade Center (what’s it called?). The project consisted of over 5 million square feet of office space, over one million square feet of retail space, and over 10,000 residential units, as well as roads, utilities, sidewalks, parks, and water front walkways, among other things.

 

A project of this magnitude gave me exposure to development, construction, project management, and facility management at the highest level. And, equally important, it gave me experience leading a team.


In 2014, CityMD was just starting to grow into what is now the largest health network in the north eastern United States, and it was looking for an in-house certified Professional Engineer to develop their medical offices at a much larger scale. While I was especially grateful for my time at LeFrak, I was drawn to the challenge of building out a new brand, and joined CityMD. Over 8 years we built over 150 locations in three different states (New York, New Jersey & Washington) and I was tasked with establishing an internal network to run, operate and maintain those sites. As a Senior Vice President at CityMD I was able to hone my leadership skills and self discipline by heading all three departments: development, construction, and facilities.


In 2017, I left CityMD as an in-house professional engineer, and instead offered my services to CityMD as an independent consultant. This allowed me to started my own Engineering & Architectural firm, Intellect Design, and began to offer my services to other corporate clients.


In the 2018 Intellect Design took on more clients and grew into a larger full service firm to include project management and expediting services. Intellect Design was able to grow by retaining clients like CityMD, Dental 365, Navaderm, Small Door Veterinary, Galileo, DNTL, Juicy Platter, Rendrcare, Careabout, and Schweiger dermatology group.


Since then, Intellect Design has continued to expand by providing Professional Engineering and Architectural services such as Designing, Expediting, and Project Management.
